When the primitive man toy was released in Japan 13 years ago, it was such a huge success it went on to sell more than 1 million units. So no wonder Japanese decided it was time to bring back the primitive man or Kotsutsu (as they are called in Japanese) from dark ages to the 21st century fully packed with the very latest technology money can buy. There are three models in this series namely Latin, Rock and Reggae and each primitive man is capable of playing the drums to the rhythm with built in music and each model has three different built in rhythms. But what makes it so special, is that when the primitive men are placed together they will start to communicate with each other via the built in infra red port and start performing a concert with synchronised drum beating. Our Japanese is a bit rusty but as we understand, If you are one of those lucky ones who lives in Japan then you can also download a secret code via your mobile phone and make your primitive man to perform a secret tune. When you have more than one primitive man you can also keep them away up to a metre and they will still play in sync. But when we tested, we did manage to go up to two meters without breaking the infra red link for them to play together. The unit also comes with 4 plastic tree logs which can be used to place one primitive man on top of other to build your own primitive man orchestra. Not suitable for small children due to small parts. |
